Introduction to Dog Grooming Course
This new 3 day course has been devised to give first time students the chance to test the waters before committing to a more intensive program.
The introductory course is intetnded to provide you with the basics and familiarise you with the Australian Dog Centre training methods without the need to purchase equipment.
Completion of the Introductory course also provides you with full credit towards a 30 day or 55 day course should you decide to continue your studies at the Australian Dog Centre.
Day 1: Theory
The importance of Dog grooming, Dog handling, pet safety and welfare, Animal health and skin disorders.
Day 2: Bathing
Bathing, Cleaning ears, clipping nails, Drying dogs.
Day 3: Basic Clippping
Clippers, Scissors and Presenting the Dog.

Dog Grooming Essentials Part 1 to 4
The Australian Dog Centres Dog Grooming Essentials (DGE) program covers all practical skills necessary for professional dog grooming. DGE is a multi part program and are all RTO formatted.
Part 1
Is for new groomers and covers those skills necessary to become an accomplished groomer’s assistant. Upon completion of this program the student will receive a diploma and be qualified to be employed as a bather/brusher for any professional grooming establishment.
Part 2
Covers trimming, scissoring, clipping and styling skills to enable you to become a dog groomer.
The object of this program is to prepare the student to be qualified to be employed or enter in the grooming industry as a dog groomer.
Part 3
Is advanced, breed specific course including poodles, schnauzers, terriers and gundogs. This course prepares the student to be a professional dog groomer and can begin to prepare you for your master’s certification (CMG).
Part 4
The student will learn how to handle clients deal with competition, take salon appointments, marketing management, OHS in the salon and business management. Part 4 is included is Part 2 and 3, OHS is included in Part 1.
This is a course that is fun and is designed for you to learn how to groom your own dog whether being a show dog, learning how to prep him for a show with smarter grooming techniques or just learning to care and groom for the family pet.

Terms: Initial deposit upfront with weekly progress payments paid in advance.

Part 1 includes OHS session of part 4, and Part 2 & 3 includes Part 4
Our courses are flexible and can be designed to suit the individual. All absent days will have to be made up. If you require an extended time off during a course you can resit that module but your diploma will not be awarded until all course criteria is completed.
